New York City, USA
What are your personal highlights of living in New York City?
The Simple Present vs the Present Progressive
Living in New York City is really exciting. Every morning, I quickly get on the very busy subway to go to work. The city is always full of energy and moves fast. You must visit Times Square and Central Park—they are very famous places in the city. My favorite food? A pizza slice from a place in Brooklyn. It’s very good.
When I’m not working, I like to watch shows on Broadway or walk around different parts of the city. New York has people from all over the world, and this makes the city’s festivals and food very special. I also run in Central Park for some quiet time away from the city noise.
At night, the city is still awake. I love going to jazz clubs in the West Village. The thing I love most about New York is its strong energy. It makes you want to do great things. If you come to New York, make sure to walk around a lot. It’s the best way to really see what the city is like.

Tokyo, Japan
What’s life like living in Tokyo, Japan, for you?
The Simple Present vs the Present Progressive
Living in Tokyo is a mix of old and new. Every morning, the trains are super busy with people going to work or school. The trains run a lot and are always on time. Tokyo is cool because it has the latest tech stuff but also old traditions.
In the morning, I often grab a quick breakfast like rice balls or miso soup from a little shop. For lunch, I usually have something fast like a bento box or ramen at a place with many food stands. After work, I like to chill with friends at izakayas (kind of like bars) or walk in bright, busy places like Shibuya or Shinjuku.
Tokyo has both old and new sights – in the buildings, the food, and festivals. I love checking out different parts of the city, tasting new foods, and going to temples.
For fun, we do lots of outdoor stuff. We might enjoy cherry blossoms in a park or go for a hike close to the city. At night, Tokyo is buzzing with music, tasty food, and so much to see.
The best thing about living in Tokyo is seeing how it keeps changing but also stays the same. Tokyo helps you enjoy both cool new stuff and old traditions. If you visit, try to see both the modern and traditional sides. And definitely use the trains – they’re the best way to see the city.

I like to be outside, walking in parks or seeing old places on weekends.
At night, there are many places to go, like dance clubs or old pubs. I love the music places the most.
