Reading Passage: “The Big Day Approaches”
The school auditorium buzzed with excitement as the annual talent show approached. Among the participants were three friends: Mia, Sam, and Lucas, each with a unique talent to showcase.
Mia was an artist who loved to paint. For the talent show, she planned to create a painting live on stage. “I want to capture the beauty of nature,” Mia said, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. She had practiced for weeks, mixing colors and experimenting with techniques to perfect her performance.
Sam, on the other hand, was fascinated by technology. He had built a robot that could dance to music. “It’s not just about the robot dancing; it’s about bringing joy and surprise to the audience,” Sam explained. He spent countless hours programming movements and selecting the perfect song for his act.
Lucas had a passion for magic. He had a trick up his sleeve that he promised would leave the audience in awe. “Magic is about storytelling and creating moments of wonder,” Lucas mused. He rehearsed daily, refining his sleight of hand and perfecting his timing.
As the day of the talent show drew near, the trio supported each other, sharing tips and words of encouragement. They knew that no matter the outcome, the experience would bring them closer and allow them to share their passions with others.
