Nuclear Family
A nuclear family is your small family group. It’s you, your mom, your dad, and your brothers or sisters. You all live together and take care of each other.
Daughter:
- My daughter is five years old.
- She has a pink dress.
Son:
- My son likes to play soccer.
- He has a big ball.
Father:
- My father is very kind.
- He has a black car.
Mother:
- My mother makes good food.
- She has a red bag.
Husband:
- My husband is very funny.
- He likes to watch movies.
Wife:
She has long hair.
My wife is a teacher.
Extended Family – Paternal / Maternal :
Your extended paternal family includes more people like your dad’s and mom’s dad and mom, his brothers and sisters, and their children. They’re all part of your big family circle.
Paternal Grandfather: My paternal grandfather used to tell us fascinating stories about his youth.
Paternal Grandmother: During holidays, we visit our paternal grandmother’s house for a big family gathering.
Paternal Uncle: My paternal uncle is a doctor and has his own clinic in the city.
Paternal Aunt: My paternal aunt is a professor at a renowned university, specializing in literature.
Paternal Cousin (male) John, is a talented musician and plays the guitar in a band.
Paternal Cousin (female) Lisa, is pursuing a career in fashion design.
Siblings
Your siblings are your brothers and sisters. You all grow up together in your family, play games, and sometimes share toys.
Brother: My brother is an adventurous traveler who has explored many countries.
Sister: My sister is a talented dancer and has won several awards for her performances.
In-Laws:
In-laws are like extra family members you get when you get married. For example, your spouse’s mom and dad, or their brothers and sisters, become your in-laws.
Mark is my brother-in-law. He works with computers and makes new apps.
Rachel is my sister-in-law. She helps the environment and runs campaigns.
Susan is my mother-in-law. She is a great cook and makes tasty food.
David is my father-in-law. He used to be a teacher. Now, he gives talks.
Jake is my son-in-law. He is a firefighter and helps people in danger.
Emma is my daughter-in-law. She is a teacher and works with children.
Immediate and Additional Relatives:
Your immediate family is the people you live with, like your mom, dad, and siblings. Additional family members are your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who are not in your everyday home.
Ethan, my nephew, is a curious little boy who’s always asking questions.
My niece, Lily, is an energetic girl who loves playing soccer and painting.
My great-grandfather fought in World War II and his stories inspire us all.
I remember visiting my great-grandmother, who had a garden full of beautiful flowers.
My great-uncle on my mother’s side was a skilled woodworker and made intricate furniture.
My great-aunt on my father’s side was a talented pianist who performed in prestigious concerts.
Step Family:
A step family happens when your mom or dad gets married to someone who already has kids. Those new people become your stepmom, stepdad, stepbrother, or stepsister.
Frank is my stepfather; He is incredibly supportive and has been a positive influence in my life.
My stepsister and I didn’t grow up together, but we are really close now.
My stepmother is an amazing cook and often prepares family dinners that we all enjoy.
Frankie Jr. is my stepbrother, He is a sports enthusiast and we often play basketball together on weekends.
